Joel Fuhrman, MD

Michael Greger, MD

A founding member and Fellow of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, Michael Greger, M.D., is a physician and internationally recognized speaker on nutrition. Brooke Goldner, MD

 Dr. Goldner is a board certified medical doctor and the author of 3 best-selling books, Goodbye Lupus, Goodbye Autoimmune Disease, and Green Smoothie Recipes to Kick-Start Your Health & Healing. She has been featured in multiple documentaries such as Disease Reversal Hope and Eating You Alive, has been featured on TV news and the Home & Family Show, as well as many radio shows and podcasts, and is a highly sought after keynote speaker.
She has been featured on the front cover of Vegan Health & Fitness Magazine 3 times and the cover of Fit Over Forty. Neal Barnard, MD

Neal Barnard, MD, FACC, is an Adjunct Professor of Medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, and President of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.

Dr. Barnard has led numerous research studies investigating the effects of diet on diabetes, body weight, hormonal symptoms, and chronic pain, including a groundbreaking study of dietary interventions in type 2 diabetes, funded by the National Institutes of Health, that paved the way for viewing type 2 diabetes as a potentially reversible condition for many patients. Dr. Barnard has authored more than 100 scientific publications and 20 books for medical and lay readers, and is the editor in chief of the Nutrition Guide for Clinicians, a textbook made available to all U.S. medical students. 

As president of the Physicians Committee, Dr. Barnard leads programs advocating for preventive medicine, good nutrition, and higher ethical standards in research. His research contributed to the acceptance of plant-based diets in the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. In 2015, he was named a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. In 2016, he founded the Barnard Medical Center in Washington, DC, as a model for making nutrition a routine part of all medical care.    

Robby Barbaro, MPH

Robby was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 12 and has been living this lifestyle since 2006. In that time, while eating pounds of fruit every day, his HbA1c has been stable with a current A1c of 5.3%, TIR of 92%, and average total daily insulin use of 30 units.

Robby graduated from the University of Florida and is the co-founder of Mastering Diabetes and Amla Green. He worked at Forks Over Knives for six years before turning his attention in 2016 to coaching people with diabetes full time.

Robby is a 3-time IRONMAN athlete, achieving his best performance in Panama City, Florida, with a time of 11 hours and 6 minutes.

He is also the co-host of the annual Mastering Diabetes Online Summit, a featured speaker at VegFest LA, and has been showcased on The Doctors, Forks Over Knives, Vice, Thrive Magazine, Diet Fiction, and popular podcasts such as the Rich Roll Podcast, Plant Proof, and MindBodyGreen Podcast.

Patricia Thomson, PhD

Patricia R. Thomson, Ph.D., aka Dr. T, is the author of WFPB20 and  co-founder of The Best Plant-Based Conference Ever! & VIRTUAL Food As Medicine Summit & EXPO , a certified nutritionist, an experienced speaker, Events Director, coach, consultant, and cancer survivor. As the co-founder of Wellness20, Dr. T is on a mission to create thriving communities around the world. 

Patricia has been in the nonprofit industry for over 25 years serving as the CEO/Executive Director of several national and international organizations. She has developed, implemented, and oversaw the operations of dozens of public and private events. These events raised millions of dollars and involved thousands of attendees. 

Patricia is a published scientist, has a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences, with a focus on toxicology, and has worked in both the private and public sectors protecting human and environmental health.

Chef Brooke Ali

Brooke is a co-founder of Wellness20 which focuses on a global approach to the power of healing foods.  She is the author of Vegan20 and the Food as Medicine Five Day Lifestyle Plan, a vegan restauranteur, chef, certified nutritionist, educator, and Hashimoto's survivor. Doors open at 7:30 AM on Saturday with the GreenSpark Marketplace and the Kick-Off starting at 8:30 AM.

I have allergies. What will be served for lunch? 
We take health seriously!  Therefore, we are advising anyone with allergies to please make alternate arrangements for lunch.  We are ensuring that the lunch menu will be whole food, plant-based selections. No animal products will be served. Gluten-free options available.
Will there be coffee, tea, or water available?
Yes, there will be service in the presentation rooms and during lunch. Please think about bringing your water bottle to save on waste.
What should I bring with me to the conference?
A water bottle and small snacks such as an apple, nuts and/or power bar would be beneficial snacks. Sometimes conference spaces can get a little chilly, so a jacket or light sweater may be wise. Also bring a pen and journal for notes. Bring cash to purchase books in the GreenSpark Market. Finally, have your phone camera ready to snap photos at the photo booth with your new friends!

Parking in Boston?
The day parking is available in Warren Towers garage at 700 Commonwealth Ave. It is typically $12-15 a day, depending upon what is happening that day, so rates can fluctuate. If you require overnight parking please email info@wellness-20.com by Monday, 6/17 to purchase a pass, otherwise you can pull a ticket at the parking garage.
